Just a few hours before the Tour of Rwanda 2017 starts. Several riders and their team has already jetted in Kigali for the race, while other will not come as expected like Morocco team, who announced it at the last minute.
Kigali Times made a tour for meet some riders, who have the chance to win this tour. Rwandese, Valens Ndayisenga and Jean Bosco Nsengimana have faith that this time also, Rwandese shall win.
Valens Ndayisenga – Tirol cycling team (Austria)
He is now playing for the Austrian team, Tirol cycling team, and he has won the Tour of Rwanda twice, 2014 and 2016, and he stills the only one to do so. He wants to defend the last yellow jersey and hopes that his team mates and Rwandans will help him.
“For now we are focused on the tour, we want to show what we has been trained for, but i was not with my team, so i want to see if we will match in the road, i still confident.”
“I don’t know if my team will feature in the race, i still wait for others, for now there are only one team mate, we still waiting for another one, so i do not know if the commissioner will allow us to play while we are three, but on my behalf i am ready to play”
“Bosco is the best contender at 90% for, but every one merit the yellow jersey because they were well prepared. Others are Eyob Metkel and Stephan De Bod from Dimension Data, them also are the contender for this tour of Rwanda”.
Nsengimana Jean Bosco – Team Rwanda
He has featured in more races this year for Team Rwanda, and he won Tour of Rwanda in 2015. Last year his performance was not good because of illness as he said.
“We are in good shape, we spent like one month and half in training,what we want is to win the yellow jersey for Rwandans.”
“I have my aim, we all have same aim, that a Rwandan shall win this year again. Patrick is strong, I am strong, so why not we can’t win this year again?” – Added Nsengimana.
“For me the prologue is my chance to win other stages, i did it and i still hope that this time it will be the same, i dream it and i pray God so he can help me to win this race”
