Cassa Mbungo managed to do what seemed impossible during the 12 years, with a lone goal from Mustapha Francis on 33 minute that allowed him to snatch the 3 points at APR FC.

The Mumena-based outfit which has never beaten the record 15-time league champions since 2005 in a 2-1 win when the army side was under the tutelage of former Rwanda international Valens Muvala.

The former champions and military side have prevailed over SC Kiyovu every time the two teams met in the last 11 years, however, with Coach Andre Casa Mbungo in charge of the side this season, fans expected excellent performances from their team.

More action is expected on Saturday with defending champions Rayon Sports Fc hosting Kirehe Fc at Stade de Kigali, Mukura VS and Amagaju Fc tussle it out in Southern Province derby due at Nyagisenyi grounds, Marines Fc will host Espoir Fc at Stade Umuganda while Sunrise Fc will play host to Etincelles Fc at Nyagatare grounds.

On Sunday, Musanze Fc hosts Police Fc at Stade Ubworoherane, Bugesera Fc will be away to Miroplast Fc at Stade Mironko while AS Kigali will take on Gicumbi Fc at Stade de Kigali.
