Fenerbahce edged past Besiktas in an ill-tempered Istanbul derby on Saturday night that saw five players sent off.
Three players were sent off in the final five minutes of the game as on loan Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot.
Ricardo Quaresma, Luis Neto, Atiba Hutchinson, Ismail Koybasi and Oguzhan Ozyakup all saw red in a fiery encounter at the Ulker Stadium.
The hosts took the lead through Giuliano De Paulo with a penalty in the 20th minute, before Quaresma and Neto were dismissed shortly before half-time.
On loan Spurs striker Janssen doubled the home side’s advantage from the spot with just four minutes remaining.
Ex-Liverpool forward Ryan Babel then pulled one back, but it proved too late for Besiktas to get back in the game.
The visitors ended the game with eight players when Ozyakup was shown his marching orders deep into injury time.
