A derby match between APR FC and Rayon Sports has ended with a blue white’s side victory of 1-0, a goal scored on 85 minute by a former APR FC defender, Rutanga Eric on a free kick.

The rivalry battle opposed those teams today at Amahoro stadium, Remera, where they seeked to win the 2017 edition of the Agaciro Football Championship. Rayon Sports’ side pocketed 3 millions Rwf and the cup, after a win game which helped Karekezi Olivier’s side to be ex aequo with APR FC and AS Kigali in points, both teams had 6 points, with 2 wins.

After a drawing of lot, from an inexplicably law established by FERWAFA in this tournament, Rayon Sports picked number one, means that it declares them the winner of the tournament, a law which which did not pleased many football fans.

Mulisa,a friend and a former teammate of Rayon Sport coach Olivier Karekezi at both APR FC and Amavubi team met each for the first timesince they started their coaching careers.

Coach Jimmy Mulisa has not lost to Rayon Sports in two meetings since he joined the military side last season but the record was broken by Karekezi, whose managed his first derby win in his career.

In the previous game, AS Kigali thrashed Police FC 2-1 both goals from the citizens scored by Frank Kalanda while Abbedy Biramahire scored a consolation for the policemen.
